If you missed the in-person Ally Training with The Trevor Project that was hosted by CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties in early December, you’re in luck! CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties is hosting this training again virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, January 14th at 6:00pm. The Trevor Project’s Ally Training is an interactive introduction to supporting LGBTQ+ youth with understanding, empathy, and confidence. Participants will learn key terminology, explore the coming-out experience, and gain insight into the unique challenges LGBTQ+ young people face at home, in school, and in their communities. Through guided activities, attendees will reflect on personal biases, build cultural awareness, and discover concrete ways to create safer, more affirming environments. The training also explains The Trevor Project’s services, what it means to be an ally, and practical steps they can take to support LGBTQ+ youth by fostering inclusive communities. You can join the virtual training via Zoom HERE.
